Can anyone suggest how I find the problem with my rear fan not operating. I have tried to get a voltage reading from the two wires at the blower and I get nothing. Is the current going through the harness or what I believe to be the ground and hot wire. How is it fused? The heater fan does work and I understand the rear blower will not work with the heater on. This is a new purchase and I am trouble shooting issues.

You might want to purchase a wiring schematic if you don't already have one.

Bob,
Out of curiosity, what's the "rear" fan? I have a '66 and have never heard of this. Also, I have a wiring diagram that I can check if I know what to look for.

Bill,

The '63 and '64 Vette Coupes did not have a cabin exhaust fan but had faux vent sculptured areas above the beltline behind each door glass. The '65 coupes had a functional cabin exhaust fan located above the belt line just behind the drivers side door glass. The cabin exhaust fan was eliminated in the '66 coupe and I believe the area above the belt line was smooth (no contoured faux or functional vents).

Oldie: you are correct in that the 63 coupes didn't have the rear compartment exhaust fan assembly but the 64 coupes did, unless the coupe was optioned with the 36 gal fuel tank, in which case the fan system was deleted. mike

You are correct about the '64 having a functional cabin vent. After I posted I went and did some research finding photographs of '64 coupes with the '65 style cabin vent.

I finally did get power to the blower motor, it is a strange combinations of settings to get there. The hot wire plugs into the heater switch under the clock and feeds power when the control is pulled out but doesn't deliver power when the heater fan motor is running. I haven't figured out the harness yet but it may not matter since it is now working.
