What was the name Chevrolet used to refer to the Camaro during it's development process? Did it have a code name?

from what i can see camaro was code named XP836. even bebore it went to the public GM couldn't decide what to call it. they thought of nova, panther, chaparral & wildcat(later used by Buick) before going with the name Camaro which means friend in an old French dictionary
