I am in the process of converting my 63 Impala from a Powerglide to a 4-speed. And I want to add the factory dashboard tach. A few questions: What is the correct tach, rpm-wise for a 327/250? Can I get the tach and hood separately or do I need to get the whole dash? Any suggestions for vendors who might have these tachs? Thanks in advance for your help.

The parts book lists the 327 as having a 6000 RPM tach. Also lists a different mast jacket cover for 1963-64 with tach and tilt wheel.
I have a friend that deals in these-will talk to him in the next few days.He will know as to what you will need and also may have the parts that you need.

Tom, You really need the whole dash for the correct install. That is a pretty hard item and $$$$$$$$$ when you do find it. Over the years that has to be the most requested part I have had people call me looking for. Just be carefull if you are buying one on e-bay! Are you going to have the car at the Carter Chevrolet Show on April 25 in Manchester CT? I try to make it every year, but it has been pretty rainy the past two. John
