Good day,
I have a box of parts I got with this 36 standard 4dr sport sedan.
What I do not seem to have in the box is the bracket that holds the bottom of the gas pedal to the floor. Can anyone post a picture of what that is supposed to look like?
I will post as many pictures as I can of some parts I would like an ID on, if anyone can help.
Thank you,
Steve S

The gas pedal has a built in hinge at the bottom that screws to the floor.

Your picture B looks like mine. The pedal slips on that and the round hole pops on the linkage. Mine doesn't have any other hinge. Look at your floor board for a corresponding hole or attachment point to be sure.

Thank you for the replies. I have tried item B and it will not allow the pedal to pivot. The floor has been fiber glassed over so I do not have any reference holes.
I will revisit and see if I can figure out this puzzle.

Thanks again,

The pedal does not have a hinge on the bottom.
There is a metal pocket riveted to the floor and a metal wide tab on the bottom of the pedal. The tab slips into the pocket.
You may need to get a 1941 or later pedal that does have a hinge and bolt it to the floor. It would be necessary to first slip the pedal on the end of the rod and then bolt the hinge to the floor at the proper angle.

The original 1940 pedal fastened to the floor the same as a 1936 (no hinged backet)

Later Chevrolet discontinued that pedal for a 1940 and the instructions were to remove pocket riveted to the floor and bolt in the new style pedal which is the 1941-1948 type.

The orginal 1936 pedal was the same from 1935-1939.
