Was it common for the rocker shaft supports to crack? I had a call from a member looking for rocker supports as his were cracked, After bead blasting three of them I found one was cracked at the top thru the bolt hole. The crack is very minor and I was wondering if it was brazed if it would still be usable or if this was a perhaps past common repair.

'32 rocker shaft supports are not a known crack problem. I would think that an unusual stress would cause the crack. Maybe not fully tightened, wrong bolt with larger than normal shoulder, dished bolt head or shaft not aligned or bent? Brazing the vee'd out crack and machining it flat and correctly fit the shaft should be a fix. The braze is a bit more flexible than the cast iron. At least worth a try if your up to it. Just think of the pleasure to have made the repair.

Thanks Chipper, I will pass on the information and not scrap the cracked one.
