Trying to help out a friend who’s misplaced one of his rumble lids toothed lock washers. It the big one that is on the center bolt of the hinge. Haven’t found a modern replacement that is even close in size and style.

Hey Ted,
Check out McMaster-Carr and here is the link: https://www.mcmaster.com/
They have internal and external locking rings! Plus a great source of most any parts needed with mechanical parts!

Thanks Rory but I believe they don’t have the correct size and style. Joe has already checked with most of the normal hardware sources.

Are we talking about a star washer that is proportioned like a fender washer so that it needs one set of teeth, inboard, to dig into the bolt head and a separate set on the perimeter to dig into the surface being tightened against?
If so, give me some sizes and I will look around.

Mike

Yes Mike, I believe it's made that way. I'll get the diameter and the interior hole dimensions and get back to you.
Thanks, Ted

Email from my buddy joe:

It is most commonly referred to as a external/internal tooth washer although it is sometimes called a star washer. The dimensions are 0.375 I.D., 1.250 O.D. and cross section (thickness) measures 0.050 (ignoring the alternating twist of the teeth).
