New to this obviously need instruction on how to link phots ..

In final stages of restoring 1929 Chevrolet International Coach Vehicle originally had a Delco-Remy Electrolock ignition switch lock mounted when the lock cylinder is pushed in as far as possible the ignition is shut of and the care locked.

The lock components have fallen to bits. Does any one no how to rebuild or have one we could purchase ???

All help and advice greatly appreciated.

First, welcome to the Forum. You've come to the right place and we look forward to seeing you here often.

About the Electrolock: There are two members of this forum (both here in the USA) who have restored hundreds of them and have the parts, testing equipment, and expertise to do the job right. You can reach them by sending them a "Private Message" from the forum using the small envelope icon next to your name at the top of the page. Their names here are "Chipper" and "Junkyard Dog". I'm sure they will see this and be happy to advise you from here.

Enjoy your '29.....they're great old cars. parking

All the Best, Chip

The major lock cylinder parts are die-cast or "pot metal" or "white metal". With water, heat and oxygen they internally corrode and expand. There is no fix except to replace the parts which are very hard to find and expensive. There were a couple of "projects" to produce replacements but so far have not been completed. Occasionally one shows up on eBay at a reasonable price. Given the shipping cost and time to the US and back, purchasing a working one is probably your best option. If you want to further investigate repairing yours send me a PM or email with photos and we can go from there. My email address is in my profile.

Am wondering if that part can be "printed" on a 3D printer? The number of intricate parts that have been duplicated or created is amazing. Apparently they are strong enough to function as well.
