Another Cable question, keeping them separate since they are NOT the same thing. and avoids confusion of topics and discussions.

What Material and Color was the Main Battery Cable on the 1929 4 Door, this is the Main power cable from Positive of the Battery to the Starter.

Was is Black and Cloth Covered ?? or Just Black Rubber/ Plastic Cable ?? What Gauge is Recommended by the Pros here for best performance ?? Stock Length ??

This is what I have now from PO [https://photos.app.goo.gl/FxVxd0VipOYAoYGl1]1929 Battery Cable[/url]
Simple Black, Plastic Covered Cable

This is what TFS has in their Catalog: Battery Cable
18" or 27.25" long

Were the Battery Connectors for battery were the simple straight style:or something else ??

Don't know what gauge cable the Filling Station sells. You should ask them since they sell the cable.

Also, the length of the cable will vary depending upon what battery you use and how you route the cable. Use a cloth tape to measure the length of the route of the cable and then you will know approx. what size cable you will need.

An old parts book I have lists the cable at 25 1/4".

The F.S. lists one for 28 !/2" so that should be fine if it is routed as the original.....and even described as cloth covered.

On my 29 coupe the main battery cable looks like the one you show as ground on your other post. It is rubber covered and has the bow tie stamped on the flat lug. It may not be the original since it is not fabric covered. It has the brass clamp. My ground cable was braided uncovered round. I replaced the ground strap with the one from TFS and it mounts to the inside of the frame rail where there is a drilled hole. I may replace the main cable as well if it is not correct.

The last time I went to purchase a 6 volt battery, the guy at Interstate told me they now only make 6v batteries in one configuration and it seems that configuration is wrong for the Chevy, putting the positive terminal towards the rear of the car. Turning the battery puts the terminals close to the frame. Spoke with my auto parts shop and they told me there was only one configuration offered in their book too. If you guys know if the other is offered, let me know the brand please.

A group 1 battery should have the pos terminal on the front R.H and the neg on the rear L.H. Exide # com 1-HP or duracell SL-1 (batterys plus). Probably around $80.00. I got an Exide at tractor Supply.

As stated earlier, the original positive cable is cloth covered, not rubber covered.
