I recently purchase a new Crank hole cover from TFS, it was Produced by C&P Automotive (Billy Possum) great guy, great parts.

My question is this, when you want to use the crank, you need to remove this entire assembly, using the spring loaded clip ? I was thinking that ONLY the chrome cap popped on and off. this does NOT seem to be the case. as all the tabs that hold it in are bent/ twisted to hold it secure.

The cylindrical shaped crank hole cover assembly must be removed to insert a starting crank.

My question is this, when you want to sue the crank, you need to remove this entire assembly

Don't know why you would want to "sue" the crank since the crank doesn't have any money. bigl bigl

I was thinning that ONLY the chrome cap popped on and off.

You can get as thin as you want, but the chrome cap will still not pop on and off because it is bolted to the face of the crank hole cover. yay bigl

And we thought the Dog was the one drinking all the beer! Sounds like Jerry's been hitting the fridge in the garage while working on his car!

In the owners manual it says to "help" the retainer spring pop in or out so as to not break it. There is a lot of good information in there. If you do not have one it is HIGHLY recommended that you get one. The reproductions are not that expensive.

Wow, need to proof read more... and it was ONLY 9pm stressed Good thing i do NOT drink !! crazy

ok, that all makes sense !! Thanks Guys thanku

I have almost every manual for the 1929 that I could find. just asking for validation, as normal.

was test fitting everything together on the cover. Will send out the strips to be chrome plated this weekend. then I can blast the sheet metal, prime and paint it up. then when the strips come back I can put it all together and put it on the car !!

Will be another item completed off my Punch List
