Very nice 33 Doug. My favorite color combination.

I hope you don't mind if I ask, where did you get the rubber floor-mat with the Chevrolet logos?

The mat came with the car. Where it came from, i have no idea. Its pretty heavy, 1/8 or more. Its been in there at LEAST 20 years, maybe 30.

Dunno if I ever posted any pics with it cleaned up, running, new tires and original copper 1933 Arizona license plates.

The brown 1933 Master mats were reproduced about 30 years ago. If they were to be reproduced again I would bet that they would cost $400...unless made overseas.

Hey Gene,

Since I'm making the 41-48 mats which have carpet in them and we are selling them for under $300 and the trunk mats are less than $200. I would safely be able to say they would be about $200, maybe a little bit more since my tooling is paid for.

Bruce are you willing and able to make some sets of the correct bow tie mats for ”˜33?

When I have some time.....I know where an original is. The time factor is the problem.

If you don't mind me asking who did you buy the tires from? What size?
Thanks

Great. Thanks
Reason for asking size is that I'm talking to a guy about buying a '33 Cabriolet.
He said the tires have been on it at least 20 years. Time for some fresh shoes!
Are wire wheels the only type that came on Eagles? I'm not seeing any pix w/ solid wheels.
Thanks, Bill

Can't answer your question about solid wheels. I think solids run truer than wires, though..

Corvette guy, huh?

I have a couple myself.

All 1931-1934 Chevrolet passenger cars had wire wheels. The "chrome spokes" are an accessory clip-on item.
What is difficult to see in his pictures is the hub protector accessories are also on the car. They are an accessory that covers the painted area around the hub cap. Also an accessory.
I have never seen a problem with wire wheels not running true....OK for the speeds these car are driven.
All 1933's are not Eagles. The Eagle model name was used at first and in March was changed to Master.

Doug,
Those are great looking Corvettes. Especially like the '61 - is that a fuelie?
Tried to post pix of mine, but I don't seem to have that figured out for this website.
Quick question - if it's not too big a pain can you tell me the overall length of your '33 - tip of bumper guard to tip of bumper guard?
Storage is always an issue. If this deal works I'm going to be past maxed out!
Thanks, Bill

Chevgene,
Thanks for the response. Are those accessory spokes and hub protectors available through the after market?
Were skirts a dealer option on the '33's? I have seen them on '34's I believe.
Also, were whitewalls an option back then? I've seen some dealer literature and it seems to have primarily blackwalls on the cars.
Thanks, Bill

My Roadster is "about" 175" tip to tip, maybe 176". That's the closest i can tell you without dropping plumb bob lines.

The '61 Corvette has a 427 CI Small Block with EFI. I guess that's fuel injected... Yes, Chev never made SB that large, its has a Dart block, Dart heads, callies crank, 4.19" bore, 3.86" stroke, Manley H beams, JE pistons, nice hyd roller cam. about 9.5:1 CR. Its a little quicker than stock. 430 ft-lb rear wheel Tq at 1500 RPM, 440 RWHP on the chassis dyno thru full exhaust at about 4800 RPM.

The chrome spoke and hub protector accessories were be reproduced at one time. Not sure if still available.
The 1934 Master was the first to have fender skirts as an accessory.
White walls were available in 1933 (not from Chevrolet) and never found on lower priced cars.

Doug, many thanks for the dimension! Very helpful.
Love the engine you have in that '61. Bet that thing really hauls!
Let me see what I can do on the picture posting situation......
Bill

Gene,
Great information. Thanks for your reply.
I suspect there are many antique cars wearing whitewalls today that never had them back in the day!
Thanks, Bill

Gene and Dean,
I bought the '33 Master Cabriolet I was asking you all the questions about! It got here from NY about 2 weeks ago, and I've already put morel than 80 miles on it!
Finally finished the project on the '54 that was up on the lift and got the '33 up there. As with any "new" car I've got some projects to do. The trans has a pretty good leak from the front - bad seal? How hard to remove these transmissions? For now, what is the correct oil to use in the transmission?
Also, what oil do you use in the differential?
The only real source for new parts that I've found so far is the Filling Station. Any other venders that you guys like for things like radiator hoses, clamps, etc?
I've got a hundred questions, but don't want to be a pain. Is it better to start a new thread?
I've also got to figure out how to post some pictures on here - Dean, I have not tried your suggestion yet, but I'm getting there!

There is no seal in the front of the transmissions. A number of reasons it could leak at this point.

Disconnecting the U joint is the mast difficult thing to do in that area.

The trans and diff. use a 140 gear oil. You may find it localaly at a farm supply store.

You will need 2 Qts. and have a little left over.

Filling Station is still the best for most parts.

Gene,
It looks like a lot of the products out there are 85W140
Grainger does sell what appears to be straight 140
Is the multi weight workable or is it best to stay w/ the straight 140?
