Seeing it has a GM part number I would suspect it is not a standard size.....Do you need one?

Actually I need four as I have disassembled the front axle to better clean and paint. I am rebuilding the front axle and the king pins were new ten years ago so do not need replacing. I have ordered some 1-1/8" and should have them tomorrow to test fit but by measuring the spindle bore they do appear to be an odd size. Lots of vendors seem to have the KP kits so someone must have a supply of the correct size plugs. If the 1-1/8 do not work I will call the FS and see if I can get them to get me a measurement.

That would be greatly appreciated Gene. I did measure the bore using a HF digital caliper but it's probably not an accurate measurement.

Measuring as best I can with a round flat object I get 1.153 with a digital caliper.

The new ones are 1.129 but concave so I will have to install one to see if it will expand and be tight. The old ones I knocked out and flattened did measure 1.149 . I was able to get them for only .39 so I can flatten one (got 10) and check it for expansion. On another note I began assembling the the spindle and control arms . The top outer pin has a lot of space and the oring supplied for a seal fails to contact either side. The parts manual only list the pin , nut and seal. Are the top outer pin seals any different than all the others? This is for the pin with the allen key adjustment for camber.

The upper outter pivot pin seal is not an O ring but rather a flat seal about 1/4" inch wide to bridge the gap.

I checked the listing from the vendor I got the seals (orings) from (NCA) and a note says some areas may need more than one to fill the gap. I will not be doubling up on the orings but rather will find/fabricate a suitable seal. My biggest concern was I thought perhaps I had assembled it wrong or lost some parts.

I checked my Misc, front end parts and I have one new 1939-1948 genuine chevrolet upper pivot pin and there are three seals in the box. They fit 1939-1954. They are moulded in a V shape so the seal well and made to compress as needed.
$15 with shipping included - pin and three seals.

Thank you Gene for the offer however I think I can make the seals and perhaps someone could use the pin along with the seals. I did check the welsh plugs today and they are going to work fine. Also got the heat riser apart by cutting the shaft and drilling out the part welded to the plate. Now just need to make a new shaft. My goal is to have the car on the road in time for the 2019 Six Cylinder Tour which I believe will be in Northern VT and NH.
