No new issues for me, but still plagued with the ongoing log in on this VCCA site only.

Today was the first day I tried this site at work since the changeover and it was flagged as Pornography. I requested a reclassification of the site through the screening app as I’m sure IT will be flagged to investigate someone browsing porn on a government computer.

This is the only message I’ve received of this nature ever at work.
The good thing was I tried it on my phone and it looked decent.

On your Avatar, you will have to go to your "Edit Preferences" and then reactivate your Avatar.

Apparently some people are confused.

If you are a member of the forum previously, you DO NOT need to register again. Your username and password work in the upgraded forum.

I've changed the wording on the home page to clarify this a bit: "VCCA MEMBERS: Unless you did so previously, VCCA members must register to use the forum. Once registered ask to get access the members-only area."

Peter,
As someone with some experience in what you have accomplished, I think you've done a fantastic job. Things certainly seem to be running well. Very few small hiccups and it seems that you have been able to clear them all up very quickly.

Bravo Bravo yay bana2

The only thing that I have seen that I would prefer, is for the Active Threads list to be a little tighter or more condensed so that it isn't where you have to scroll so much to see the complete list. Maybe a smaller preview window for each thread. That might not be something that you can change. I can certainly live with it. Again, great job.

Hey, one other thing. I sure wish there was a like / dislike button on comments. Just a thought.

I agree. When you click on Active Threads, each 'preview' of the new post contains too much verbiage. I think only two lines are necessary to get the drift of the post and then more previews would fit on the page.

Thanks, Dean

I agree, I also like Like Buttons.

Not only is it a quick way to communicate, but it saves space. Without them it is either a reply or nothing. Many times it's not worth replying to, but well worth hitting that Like Button, lol.

If I am understanding it correctly, we really have to start all over again.

Would that be correct?

As I tried to re-activate it, but could not find it here on the site.

I have a (stupid?) question.
How do I send a private message?
With the former site I hit "My Stuff" and there it was.

Find your name in the upper right hand corner. You'll see a small arrow or envelope just to the left of your name.Click it...

How do you get that "Member" icon under your forum name?

I've been a continuous member since the early or mid 90's.

Also, I just checked, but do have access to the "Members Only" forum.

Your status is VCCA member. Don't know why you don't have access to "Members Only". You will need to go into your profile to add the VCCA logo. Maybe Peter will see this post (he is monitoring closely to insure minimum issues since the change) and either make the change for you or tell you how to do it yourself.

Just checked and found that if I click on my Chat name in the upper right corner it opens a box with several options. If you click on "Edit Profile" you can make the changes.

Chipper, I "do" have access to Members Only and was why I was wondering that I did not have the icon, but I now see that it is not automatic and I needed to click on it myself in the Edit Profile page. Which I just did, thanks to your info.

Thanks again.

Bill

I misread your post on VCCA membership. Did get the part about the logo. Glad it worked out for you. The logo looks good under your Chat name.

A "dislike" button would only serve as the catalyst for unpleasant comments.

Probably right about the dislike button, this world doesn't need anymore of that. The Like button however could alert a person to the fact that even though few or no people commented on a thread entry, possibly many saw it and concur on what was said.
