AM GOING TO USE MY 216 INT/EXH mainifold on the 56 235 am putting in 50 so i dont have to redo exhaust system question is do i use the gasket set for a 216 or do i use the gasket set for the 235 or doesnt it make any difference the ports for the 235 of course are bigger so i am guessing that i should use the gaskets for a 56 235 thanks

Whiles neither would be correct I would use the 235 gaskets due to matching better with the manifold to head alignment rings.

Keep in mind the carb mounting size is different. You could have a new exhaust pipe for the 235 reduced at the muffler inlet to adapt but I think it would be best to have a proper 235 system. My 216 had a 235 manifold set up on it and that is how the exhaust system was set up. With smaller pipes you may restrict the exhaust flow some.

There is a place that makes stepped alignment rings. I have a set in the garage in the shipping box. Will take a look tomorrow. You may have already installed the manifolds.
