Finally! I am able to get back to Chat!
Just completed a miserable day getting a new computer up and going. It did not help that Microsoft pushed out all those monster security updates yesterday. All that had to be downloaded and installed. About 8 hours elapsed time to get everything downloaded (including Office), installed, and configured.
A friend once described getting a new computer this way. It is like you moved into a new house after someone else moved all your stuff into the house. You know it is there but have no clue where to look!

I have had this computer for 18months. Windows 10 did a major update Saturday night and since then it takes 2 hours to be able to use the computer and then it is 5 minutes between mouse click to any reaction on screen. If this is what Microsoft call customer benefit I dont want any of it.

Did you buy the insurance that replaces your computer if it gets "accidentally" damaged beyond repair??
I'm not really liking Windows 10 as it makes me feel like this is my first computer since they hid everything and I feel useless. I'd be tempted to take it to a small local shop (owner does the work), and see what they can find.
Most importantly ** whenever there is an update for your computer, phone, etc, NEVER EVER update as soon as the update first becomes available. Wait for weeks before updating as you do not want to be the guy finding the problems. Let someone else debug it first.

I dont like windows 10 either, much prefer 7 though I didnt like it at first either.
The guy that set this up thinks he set it to ask if it is allowed to update which it had done on previuos occassions but this time it all happened without the request.

Even with an older program ( I have windows 7) there are constant changes with carriers and browsers. I am using Firefox and not enthused with their recent updates. It saves every site you search and puts in a screen for access whether you want it or not. The history can be cleared but then the ones you want are also cleared. There is probably a way so it doesn't do that but most likely you will need a degree in computer technology to do it.
