Hello,

Im a new member so I hope Im posting at the right place.

I have a 1954 Chevy Belair with a automatic powerglide transmission. I wanted to know if you guys can help me and send me a pic or link in where the throttle spring goes connected in both sides.

Ive checked online and checked some of my manual books but was only able to see a pic for a truck and a Corvette with tri carbs.

Any help will be appreciated.

Thanks

wel2

The front of the spring hooks to the little tab lever on the bell crank on the side of the block behind the exhaust pipe. The spring hooks onto the radiator pet cock farther to the rear and runs horizontally.

its looks like there are two springs. One is in the bottom near bell housing and the other one was near the linkage just below the carb. I coulnt really see if there is a tab near the bell housing. I just bought the car a few months ago and they had a carb with a manual choke similar to the one on my 47. I bought the correct one and installed it and want to have it all original as possible. Now im not sure if its the correct linkage rods.

Here is the illustration for the '53 and '54 with POWERGLIDE. You'll see ONE spring, connected to the bellcrank, while the other end is anchored at the petcock, near the P.G. bellhousing.
