well, a little after the fact but: just before the december snow i went out to the fine costco "carcoon" and got the old rattler up on it's winter jack stands and off the cold concrete, topped off the radiator w/ coolant, fired up the engine and ran through the gears ( after several months idle, the clutch doesn't like to engage; maybe the throw out bearing or clutch plates?) to keep them limber, disconnected the battery cable from the starter and hung the 75 watt drop light in the engine compartment (on 24 hrs a day... cheap insurance). i threw a thick blanket over the engine cowl and done. yes, i ought to have dealt with the gasoline but i think i'll gamble yet again. little effort, big satisfaction. come on spring! pax, jim
