To do a good job of cleaning cut screwdriver slots in the studs holding the body to the alloy end cap and valve holder. These are hammer in screws and can now be unscrewed. Pull the end cap out and clean the leather piston and body. I lubed mine with dubbin leather preservative. There are minimal parts in here so just note the order you pulled them out and reassemble the same way. Put in the lubricant before you put the cap back on and hammer home the screws again.
