My 1976 Chevrolet LUV has an early gas tank vapor recirculation system that sends vapors to the crankcase and carb. This system is of questionable functionality after 40 years! I'm concerned about undue pressure in the gas tank when it gets hot. I'm having trouble finding a venting gas cap that fits the LUV. Any suggested solutions?

You can remove the vent hose to the charcoal canister. The tank would the vent, and oils not pass an emissions test if it was required where you live.
