We're getting ready to redo the interior in my wife's grandfather's 1930 4 door Master Deluxe. We'd like to do the trim around the windows , the faux woodgrain, and such before we do the upholstery. My wife is talented with painting so she is likely capable. First, was all the trim around the windows done or just around the doors (I'm thinking the front windshield, rear glass and rear quarter glasses were not but am not sure). Are there any websites or Youtube stuff that show how to do this? Anybody know the colors used? And what colors where the dashes? Our's appears to be a reddish taupe but am not sure what the true color is. It would be good to go back as close to original as possible.
Thanks in advance for any information and advice.

ALL the garnish mouldings were wood grained with a dark brown walnut. The depressed grove on the lower part was silver paint. The center of the dash as well as the steering column was a rose/beige tan. The top of the dash and lower portion was wood grained the same as the garnish mouldings.

are you asking about woodgrain on a 1939 or a 1930?

There are lots of youtube videos that show how to faux woodgrain paint but not much for walnut. I ended up taking a trick from each of them and rolled into a recipe that works for walnut. If you want show quality the grainit kit is probably the way to go but with a little time and patience and simple painting tools you can get a really nice result.
