The element inside the air cleaner housing for my 55 is crumbling apart. Are there replacements available to fit inside the stock housing? This is for a 2-barrel carb.
If any one knows of a solution to keep the stock housing, I would appreciate it.

If its the original mesh for an oil bath air cleaner it is not available.

I will do that. In the meantime however, I took some improvisational advice and got several stainless steel Chore Boy pads, oiled them & stuffed them in the housing. They fit good, are stainless, and were very cost effective to boot.
