Hey fellow Chevy folks, I recently got a '28 roadster and had to replace the tail light bulb. When I removed the lens, I found 2 light bulbs, one for the 'running' lights and one for the brake. I was able to find the #63 replacement for the running light from the Filling Station, but the other bulb (Brake light) is listed as "T-1141 Mexico" and I cannot find a 1141 6V bulb online anywhere. Does anyone have a source or a suggestion? Thanks in advance. Beth

1141 is a 12v bulb. I dont know what number the right one is, but I imagine someone will be along to tell you shortly.

Check with your local auto parts store or the Filling Station. Either should have the correct 6 volt bulb.

That is just crazy! That is the number clearly stamped on the base of this bulb. Would a 12V bulb work in a 6V system? It seems to be working but I'm sure the right bulb will work better. Thanks for letting me know.

A 12v globe will work in a 6v system the same as a 24v globe will work in a 12v system but wont be as bright as it should be but 6v globe in 12v system and 12v globe in a 24v system wont work.

beth, you might consider the 6v halogen bulbs from bill hirsch. a few years ago i bought two for my '30 coupe head lights; tail lights next. i found him through the g & d "parts for sale". 800- 828-2061. ask for eric, the ad says. www.hirschauto.com or hirschauto.aol.com hope this helps. pax, jim
