did Chevrolet offer 2 different radio head ** dials color ** wise for 1935 standard series. >??

The one my friend has is a nice tan shade with brownish letters/numbers . Pretty sure this is correct for 35 std as it matches stock gauges .

The 1935 Standard radio is Model 601662. This radio has a control head that mounts under the lip of the dash.

The 1935 Model unit 601177 is also for the Standard Car. It also mounts under the lip of the dash, but is totally different than the Model above.

The 1935 Master radio Model 601574 is for the control head that mounts through a prepared hole made in the dash at the factory. This is the first radio that was to be installed through the dash. The radio used a header speaker, as did, the Model 601662.

thank you ray..........jonjet member was asking me.

I have 34 accy brochure shows one with control box speaker built right into it and the other with the speaker in a separate unit.

Both FACE HEADS mount directly to the radio unit FOR 1934.

For 1935 accy brochure the FACE HEAD mounts to the bottom of the dash and the control unit mounts farther back off the firewall.

It shows the radio unit with the speaker built in and the other speaker as separate box and unit.

The accessory book for 1934 and the other for 1935, neither one shows a part nunmber

For a more comprehensive discussion of the 1935, (and other year) radios, refer to the G&D articles written and published in the G&D from 1980 to 1985.
