We are getting ready to install the brake and clutch pedals in the '49 3100 truck.
I am a little confused about the bump stops (rubber rectangular pieces) that are supposed to be installed on the pedal rod.
In the 1929 -1954 Parts manual section 0.829 part number 3684319 is listed as the insulator for '47 to '54 Commercial and Utility. It only shows a quantity of 1.
There is no listing for a brake pedal insulator in the brake section.
Were there bump stops on both pedals from the factory? Am I reading the parts manual correctly?
Thanks for the help!
Thanks,
Rusty

Perhaps they did not use it on the brake pedal because the arm on the stop light switch does the jod instead.

Hi Gene,
That makes sense.
This weekend we were looking at a '54 3100 and there was no bumper on the brake pedal. However, the stop light switch had a very wide arm on it, not the thinner lever you normally would see. That arm seemed to serve as the stop.

Gene's assumption is correct. Rubber bumper is on the clutch pedal arm only. NO rubber bumper on brake pedal arm.

Many thanks for the confirmation and pictures!
Part of the confusion is that various supplier catalogs indicate that you should have bumpers on both.
