Looking for info on putting a new frontend in my '55 pu. I've looked into the mustange II install. $2000 is a lot for my empty pockets. I don't like most of the camero/nova clips I've seen.
Anyone got any other ideas? I'd like something simple, like a bolt in. I've heard that some amc parts will bolt in, but the only info I've found if for '40's.
Thanks for any info you might have.

What happened to the original front end? You may consider the economical advantage of hunting up one for a 55 to a 59 PU, just rebuild it back to normal.

If you are not going stock try RB's Obsolete Automotive at 1-800-426-6607. They use a Heidt's system. Heidt's number is 1-800-841-8188. You can also try Airride Technologies at 1-812-482-2932. You can also try Art Morrison and Fatman Fabrications. All of them are on the internet. Do not go with AMC parts as they are getting harder to find. If you do not want to go with Mustang style try a new model vette.

I FINISHED MY '55 (2ND SERIES) ABOUT A YEAR AGO, SINCE I DIDN'T HAVE A TON OF MONEY I USED PARTS FROM DONORS. THE FRONT CLIP THAT I USED WAS FROM A 1969 BUICK SKYLARK, IT FITS PERFECT AND IT GAVE ME POWER BRAKES, POWER STEERING, ETC. AND IT LOWERED THE FRONT TO WHAT I THINK IS A PERFECT HEIGHT WITHOUT ANY LOWERING KIT OR DROPPED SPINDLES. NO PROBLEM WITH THE STEERING EITHER. EVEN GOT THE NEW HEADERS TO FIT WITHOUT ANY PROBLEMS. I AM VERY, VERY PLEASED WITH THIS SET-UP, IT EVEN HAS A VERY NICE TIGHT TURNING RADIUS (MUCH BETTER THAN MUSTANG II). I DID REPLACE THE FRONT SPRINGS WITH BIG BLOCK BUICK SPRINGS. HOPE THIS HELPS, GATOR. cool cool

P.S. THE MAN WHO HELPED ME HAS BEEN BUILDING STREET RODS SINCE THE 1950'S, SO MAKE SURE IF YOU USE A DONOR CAR, THE PERSON WORKING ON THE WELD IS AN EXPERT. :)
