I have been with V.C.C.A. for 11 years, but cannot recall any conversations here, on line, regarding Corvairs.

Are Corvairs considered part of the V.C.C.A. family ...... and are Corvairs judged, as any other model of Chevrolet ?

I have the "gut feeling" the Corvair is the red headed step child in the V.C.C.A. community, would like to hear if my thoughts are accurate or "way off base".

I'm considering a purchase of a Generation II Corvair, '65 to '69 vintage, thus my concern and questions.

Thanks,
Bob. 2-2-2017.

Yes, Corvairs are welcome. I believe I have seen some of them at every VCCA meet I have attended. We have had some on the Happy Days Tours. They are Chevrolets. They would be in the chat site under the years they fit in.

There are plenty of VCCA members that own Corvairs. They are great cars for in town or local travel. Not the best for long trips as they don't have a overabundance of trunk space. I have a '68 Convertible that I first bought in 1973 and then again in 2003. It is basically original with only a very few parts changed from its production.

If you were to look at members collections you will find quite a few members have a Corvair or two in their fleet.
I had a 1963 convertible from about 1978 untill a few years ago. Kind of sorry that I sold it and enjoyed driiving and showing it.
On the late models check for rust around the windshield and areas under the W/shield as they tended to leak. Even in a southern car. They do have the glued in W/shield and the glue goes bad after 50 years. Also the front cross members rust.

There are a lot of Corvairs in the VCCA and many of them have been judged in the past as well.

In reference to the question about Corvair, yes they are a part of the VCCA as mentioned by many.
A number of years ago there was some preliminary discussion about starting a Non Geographical Chapter for Corvair. A number of owners were interested, however no one stepped forward to be the "spark plug" to make it happen. Currently we have a few Non Geo Chapters, H Chapter, Personalized, etc and they are working well. Might it be time to start a Corvair Chapter??? Any one interested in taking a leadership roll and getting the ball rolling? I am sure the H & PCC chapter Directors will lend assistance as to how they established their chapters....

Well, I'm looking for a '66 to a '69 MONZA, prefer automatic, well maintained, with a record of maintenance.
If I find my Monza, perhaps I could assist with a Corvair chapter.
I have owned 3, 2 of those 3 were GENERATION I, one was a GENERATION II (1965). I loved to drive the car.

Well, this list tells me the Corvairs are well represented in the V.C.C.A.
I've had great luck selling my parts in the G & D, maybe a "car wanted ad" in the G & D would be in order.
