Hi guys, I am new here.

I usually deal with Ford or Mopar but I am looking at a 1966 Caprice 2 door hardtop with a factory 4 speed and console.

It has a modified 350 in it right now.

What I need to know is if there is any way to know what engine came in the car from the factory.

The Vin simply says V8 but not which one.

Any help would be appreciated.

Is the car a USA built car or a Canadian built car.

If the car was ***produced in Canada****, then Vintage Vehicle Services

I would guess the car was made in the US.

I can get a picture of it.

I also have a 1969 Kingswood wagon and I don't know what engine it had from the factory. At the moment it has an '80s 305.

Is the engine size listed onthe protecto plate?

The protect-o-plate was attached to some warranty paper. It was in the glove box when the car was sold new. It will have the vin, engine, trans, rear end serial numbers, carb plant code & some codes on the bottom telling some of the power & radio options. A picture would be best because the placement of a number or letter tells different things...Joe

Generally speaking if the differential cover has 10 bolts it had a small block and 12 bolts a big block.
Any ID info. on the radiator? code numbers, etc.

Also if there is one upper control at the back it would be a small block...two arms a big block or wagon.
