I am trying to determine the year of my engine. It is in a 1931 chassis. The number that is cast on the block is: 83T391-4 and stamped by the fuel pump is: 2631510.

Any ideas?

The block casting for a '31 is 836409, and the casting for a '35 is 837591. Check the casting number again, you may have misread the 7 for a T and the 5 for a 3. See if you can find the casting date. It would be formated something like B-10-5, where B is the month (starting with January as A, Feb. as B, etc.), 10 is the day of the month, and 5 is the last digit of the year (1935 in this example).

835501 is the block casting number
E 1 9 is the date = May 1, 1929
Bowtie 12 believed to be the foundry
This is from my 1929

2631510 is a 1931 engine serial number.

I am going to try to get a good read on the casting numbers and date now that I know what I am looking to find.
