Help I thought i posted this already but i can't find it.Ignition switch has 3 post battery 2 nd. run & 3 rd. no current going through, what the reason for the 3 rd.https://vccachat.org/images/icons/default/Frustration.gif

The wiring diagram will help. Here is a link to it:
1951 Car Wiring Diagram
The center contact is battery power, and the other two contacts are marked as "Aux.". One goes to the ignition coil and powers the gasoline gauge. The other is available to power accessories and may have nothing connected to it.

Left = OFF
Center = ON/RUN
Right = OFF (Valet)

With the key in the ignition and turned to the right, you can pull out the key and the ignition will act like a "valet key". You can turn the ignition back to the center position by hand and start the car.

Its an odd system. I wish it was an aux setting intead.
