Hello mark38,

I had recently replaced the the gasket under my '37 cowl vent and the hardware was 1/4-20x1/2 inch, the head is large and single slotted with a lock washer and square nuts. I replaced mine with hex head bolts and added flat washers to the nut side because of the slot on the bracket.
