am going thru lifters and pushrods (had one bend on me lAST summer) coil seeping oil i know chevy changed position on later sixes.question is can i move the coil on 50 now or is it too late because it has been facing downward for a long length of time

If it is working OK now should be OK to reverse it. The oil in the coil is for cooling.
