Can I bring my '51 to the Happy Daze Tour. The VCCA Southern Spring Tour is 2 weeks before in Bowling Green, KY. Don't have time of funds to go back home and get the '70 Caprice.

Chipper, The published years of vehicles are 1955 - 1985. I have had requests from members with other years of vehicles. We will accept any year vehicle older or newer on a space available basis. The deadline for registration is April 24.

Jim,
This may be interpreted as nit-picky but is not intended to be. Just trying to have events more consistent on years accepted and possibly encouraging younger people and their vehicles to participate in VCCA activities. Why if the VCCA accepts 25 year old Chevys for judging that this tour does not? That would make it up to 1989 model year Chevys in 2014.

Not to be nit picky, but I think this discussion deserves a post of it's own as it may pertain to touring but has nothing to do with the Cavendish Vt. Tour. That being said it seems to me the Happy Days Tour when started covered all vehicles from 1955 and on. I think changing to include all vehicles 1955 and up is a good idea.

When I started the HAPPY DAYS TOUR it was for 55 - 75 year vehicles. The muscle car years. It has changed almost every year since. I was asked the same question you asked. I have no response other than to say and I believe it will probably change to that before long.

As you know the Tourmaster can make a tour they host anything they want it to be.

The corvair replaced our 53 when the power glide died and I did not want to drive our 29, as we were going on to Novia Socia for a total of 2844 miles.

Al... It was your Corvair! I knew I'd get the answer to that sooner or later! Hope you enjoyed the Light house tour. I was hoping someone would do a journal or report with pictures on it here!

Brewster,

Thanks for all the photographs and the story accompanying them. A great contribution to us who didn't or couldn't make the tour. It appeared that all of you on the tour had fun and enjoyed each others company.

I wonder why you opted for the 51 instead of the 50. Seems to me that cruising along in the 50 with the top down would have much more enjoyable. I expect that Jane figured you would have attracted too many ladies a-wanting to ride with you and so put an end to that choice of car. Agrin

Thanks again,
Charlie computer

BTW: Down here in NC, we used to be able to buy gas first and then pay later. But not anymore. Too many "carpet baggers" passing through* and taking advantage of mom and pop store owners. They ruin everything about the Southern simple life. Do too!

* Actually they seem to never leave.

Charlie... The '51 ran 1200 or so trouble free miles, and gave me no worries whatsoever. The '50 gets me about a hundred miles before some new worry or problem crops up! You're right about Jane's worries though... I'm hot in a drop top!

I've just read the entire thread on your Six Cylinder Tour. Fun and entertaining....and really liked all the photos. Nice work. Thank you.
Bill.
