howdy all, question, how do you check the fluid level in a 1966 belair steering box? what grease or gear oil goes in the box and how do you put it in. thanks for any advice

If it is a power steering box it is lubricated by the Fluid in the power steering pump. Automatic transmission fluid is used in the power steering.

You check it by taking out one of the bolts holding the cover on it.

This site does have a lot of information but a shop manual is invaluable when working on your car. Besides, you can get the information instantly in the shop manual. The shop manuals are being reprinted and they are fairly inexpensive. I have shop manuals on all of my cars and I find them extremely useful when working on the car.
