I've posted this request for a source for a 41 license plate light socket on two other forums without any luck. No luck with the Filling Station, Chevys of the 40s, and ebay. Any suggestions for another source? Thanks, Mike

I needed a license light socket. I went through my junk boxes and found a pigtail with a socket that works .It does nothave to fit perfect. It is covered by the glass . Might need a shim or two..Mine works just fine. JIM

Mike, have you tried Dick Hansen's list on this site, under Parts For Sale?

Thanks all, and a special thanks to Wawuzit's for showing me how to post a picture to the forum. This is a picture of the lamp socket I am trying to replace. I'm surprised with all the cars using this lamp, that replacements are not easy to find? Will take above advice and get a close replacement, and post what I used. Thanks, Mike

Mike, I saw a license plate light assembly for sale on (I think) H.A.M.B. classified parts. Might want to do a search on that forum.

I used a reg socket on my 41 when I installed my rear license plate but Found Out after that I needed to ground it out blush so I removed it again soldered a wire to the side and put it to the attaching bolt and it works laugh so make sure you get a good ground as the original was grounded by the socket that was made for it.

I was browsing at the Carquest store and found the perfect socket. Just used the bottom parts, but did clip off the end of the black rubber piece. All fit perfectly, and best of all it worked. Good luck to future folks who will have to do the repair. Thanks, for every ones help. Mike

Have you tried "Old Car Parts" in Portland, OR? 1-800-886-7277
I've found several used parts for my '41 Coupe from them.
Good luck,
Roy
