Any suggestions as to how to jig the moldings to work on them from all sides while woodgraining?

When i was painting the set of 4 for my 35 standard coupe, i ran wood dowels from top to bottom thru the screw holes and sprayed them. They were supported by wood 2 x 4. Not sure if this would work while woodgraining them also. At least it will allow you to get your base coat down smoothly.

Pretty sure i had the 2 x 4 on outside of dowels ( 1/8 ) and then a piece of 2x4 on the inside of molding opening for dowels to rest on. Might even have been 1/8 metal rods....was early 90's.

Hey Mike,

I think I'd like a sketch of what you are describing, something about 1000 words.

OK. I'll try to jig up what I think you did, post a photo and then you can tell me if that's what you had.

In as few words as possible........i stuck either wood or metal rods thru the window frame from one side to the other and then supported it in the center area with something.
