I'm starting to assess my 51/52 radio and was wondering if the mechanical vibrators are still available as replacements, or do you have to use the electronic versions?

Are the electronic versions simply plug ins or do I have to make further modifications electrically before they can be used?

Thanks

Rick

I have the solid state vibrator in the radio in my 1951 Chevrolet and it was a direct plug-in. Works great and it is quiet too.

Thanks Gene and Skip!

Hey, love the "Junkyard Dog" series in the G&D. You're famous (notorious) now!!

Hope you survive the storms.

Cheers,
Rick chevy

Glad that you like the "Best of The Junkyard Dogs" stories. We did those adventures for 25 years and we had a fantastic time going on those escapades.

We have had heavy rain for the last two days but no disasters as of yet......which is a good thing!

Looks like fun. The one junkyard in our area has 40's and 50's cars in the back, but they are buried in mud, and thanks to our horrible wet N. England winters, they are rapidly turning into piles of ferric oxide. I did manage to scrounge a few 51 hubcaps and a generator.LOL

Take care.
