Did GM make available a locking gas gap for the '48 trucks? If so, could someone post a photo or two? How readily available are they today? What is a reasonable sale price? Is there a reproduction being made/vendor name?

Thanks for any info. on this topic.

fonz, I found a Chevrolet locking gas cap on Jim Carter's web site. I believe they fit a 36-thru the Advanced cab series. I didn't find any for GMC , but it may be worth a call to see if there may be one for a GMC, he advertizes that he sells parts for GMC.

Locking gas caps have the GM on the flipper. You can install it anywhere it will fit. They are available as repo.

Those original "GM" logo locking fuel caps are very expensive. There was one For Sale on the Stovebolt Page not long ago. I have one, but don't have a picture of it. Let me know if you need me to take a photo, or two, and I will.
