You can read the original thread at: Wood Resto - Part I , but thought you guys might like to see how "Charlotte" is coming along.

Charlotte is a Norwood, Ohio girl, currently residing in Charleston, SC, with a Serge Blue skirt, Black top and Cream Medium shoes...she hopes to be back on the road in the early summer. If you like, I'll keep you advised on her progress?

Believe me, she would have never made it this far without all the help I received here. Speaking of which, JYD...you recognize your outstanding work on the generator and the carb? laugh laugh laugh

Looking good, Don.
How do you get 'ol Charlotte in and out of the garage without steering?
Love the color!

Really simple...I just stand on the driver's side, push on the windshield pillar post with my right hand, and use my left hand to steer the front tire to the desired angle...as long as the steering box is out of the chassis, the steering linkage moves very easily.

Thanks for the kind words. laugh

The formula for all the original 1931 Chevrolet colors may be found on Bill Barkers 1931 Chevrolet Site .

The complete list of paint formulas for 1931 is on his Color Combination 1 and Color Combinations 2 pages.

The link to the modern replacement colors is here: Replacement Colors .

With the replacement code numbers availabe there, you will have no trouble having the painter match you up with whatever type of paint you decide to go with. I chose a base coat - clear coat.

Don,

You memtioned JYD as doing the work on the carb. I need one for my 29 Truck. Do you think JYD would be a good source. That is a great color combination.

Thanks.

Don,
The motor sure looks better sitting in the car than it does on Bill work bench bigl Sure sounded good on he's bench, though. I can't wait to see her complete. Looks like the really hard "stuff" is behind you. Paul

Oh do know Mel Rauton and have you seen he's collection of "stovebolts"?

Hey Don,
Charlotte is surely a beautiful girl. This is the first time that I have been able to experience the evolution of a classic car, which she, without a doubt, is. Thanks for the opportunity to be a part of this experience. What this means above all is thanks, DON, for helping me to hook up to this forum. You got it going on! Your Friend, Bill/KC WOOD

Looks like a first class rebirth is only a few months away. The gestation period will be well worth the effort.
