About 1946 when I was 8, I visited my sister in Lawton, Iowa (Population 200) just outside of Sioux City. Wandered downtown and spied an open garage door. Inside was a shiny red fire truck. Played around and ultimately set off the siren. Local businessmen came running to man the truck, found a kid playing, so I was banned from the fire station FOREVER. I was told I could NEVER EVER come back. So, I waited until 1998 and bought the truck. Did a frame off restoration in 2005 and now play with the siren any time I want to!
