Short question:

What are people doing/using?

Our '33 Eagle didn't come with any, obviously. The vast majority of the car is still factory original, but now there's discussion of incorporating some sort of signaling system.

Frankly, I don't want to. I say leave her the way she was designed and built! But I'm not the primary driver, and I understand they're now required, legally.

If they must be, then is there a system out there that is magnetic? Self-contained and battery operated? Uses the running lights?

Anything so the car doesn't LOOK any different.

I have seen motorcycle lights more or less clamped to the bumper brackets. They are comparativly small. bright, and expensive.

If your car has cowl lights and two tail lights then those can be utilized to be used for turn signals also.

Michael,
Here's a link that may help with the rear signals:
www.jandlenterprise.com
They sell a removable brakelight that attaches to the rear window with suction cups. This can also function as a rear turn signal if it is connected to your 6v turnsignal switch available elsewhere (www.fillingstation.com and search 'turn signals').

Thanks guys.

Our girl is Plain Jane all the way. She's an Eagle, but never had cowl lights or fog lights of any kind … only one horn, in fact.

So I'm hoping not to have to add anything she didn't come with. I like the suction-up set-up. I almost wonder if we could put a second set on the front windshield.

My Eagle is original except for the turn signals and Optima 6 Volt Battery. While not optimal and a real pain to fish extra wire, I replaced the upper single contact park socket in the headlights with dual contact and ran extra wire to the turn signals. The down side is that with the headlights on, the turn signals are not real good. I have not been able to find dual contact amber 6 volt bulbs, but that would really mess up the originality of the car if available. I replaced both single contact tail sockets (upper and lower) and ran more wire. This gives a separate contact for stop and for turn signal while leaving the other contact in the upper and lower socket for taillights.
