The Southern Ontario Canada Region participated in a show and tour of the St Catharines Engine Assembly Plant. GM Canada organized the day, and all we had to do was show up!

Jane & I left Bolton at 6:15am with the car on the trailer and headed to Nana's place on the Lakeshore to drop off Abby. A day with Nana meant that Jane & I get to ride together in the '50 on the tour. We arrived at the Worron's house at 8:00am, then headed for Timmie's in Binbrook to meet up for the drive to the plant.

Meeting at Tim Hortons were the Worron's, 1979 Impala, Pearce's, 1950 convertible, Gajdacs, 1961 Impala sedan, Pettitt & Boyes, in Randy's '58 Apache, and Franden's in their '61 Impala convertible. A little late to the party after some mis-communication were the Lampkin's in their '64 Impala convertible. Meeting us at the show were the Rozon's in their '31 roadster.

The tour through the factory was interesting. We were not allowed to take pictures inside, but they had a display of components and engines that are made there outside.

The show was open to all GM cars, or GM powered cars. A few GM powered Fords snuck in, but the show was full of beautiful GM restorations and customs. There must have been 300+ cars there. Here's some of the VCCA relevant ones...

Part way through the day we were surprised by a couple of special announcements. The President of GM Canada, Stephen Carlisle, was on hand to announce an investment in the St. Catharines plant of $13.5million to continue production of GM engines. Then he unveiled for the first time in Canada, the new 2016 Camaro! What a beautiful car!

Afterwards, we were back to sitting around the cars, and a gentleman that collects hood ornaments dropped by to check out Paul's roadster. He pulled this out of his satchel...

That's Paul Rozon (1931roadster, here on Chat) taking a picture of an October of 1927 sales award for Chevrolet salesmen.

The end of the day rolled around and all of the trophies were handed out. They were all decided by peoples choice ballots. The 1st runner up Best Chevrolet was Paul Rozon & Maggie Ross, in their 1931 Roadster! What a beautiful car!
