I was visiting an old friend yesterday and he gave me a full page ad (page 44), approximately 10 1/2" x 13 1/2", that he cut from a December, 1937, "Country Gentleman" magazine. The headline for the ad is, "Farmers need a Beauty and a Brute." Except for one small 1/8" tear at the top of the page, it is a pristine ad extolling the virture of the new Unisteel Turret Top Body by Fisher and it shows a 1938 Master Deluxe 4 door. I have a Master 2 door so my friend thought I would like the ad. It has an animal in the upper right hand corner that is the spitting image of today's silver impala we see on TV advertising the new Chevy Impalas. I don't imagine there are many of these old, untouched original ads around and I thought I would share the store of this one with my fellow Chevyites. Stuart

Hi Stuart,

Interesting story, especially about the "Impala."

As you likely know, these old ads command some pretty good prices at swap meets, on eBay, etc. these days.

I clearly remember buying them for a buck some years ago. Also selling many of my "extras" for $4 - $5 on eBay 5-ish years ago. Like the price of the cars, parts, etc, those prices are a thing of the past.

Bill.
