HELP! Would someone familiar with a 1939 GMC COE radiator set-up please respond. I am guessing the Chevy COE would be similar. I have a problem with the radiator fill because I am building from scratch and have never seen what is supposed to have been. Thanks Mike Denbar

Hi Mike,

I don't have the answer to your question, but I ran across this article and thought you'd enjoy it: http://www.oldchevytrucks.com/blog/index.php/2017/05/1948-gmc-coe-deluxe-crew-cab/

Mike,
I don't know if this helps or applies. On the '41-'46 Chevy C.O.E., The radiator has a smooth neck. A short length of straight hose connects it to the filler neck (with cap).
A bracket or clamp secures the metal neck and cap to the firewall.
I'm not looking at this setup at the moment so I am going from memory. I never understood why the extra upward extension was needed.

Mike, Thanks, but mine is set up differently. I guess the radiator that was given to me (did not come with the truck)went to a truck that had the cowl flip up like a hood. Mine does not do that. I figured out how to manage it. Thanks

A local junkyard has a 39 or 40 in it and I think it still has a radiator,
