My my front and rear light sockets for the parking/tail lights will not hold a bulb very well. It seems like the sockets are larger than the bulb's base and it is difficult to lock the bulb in. Any idea how to fix this? Thank you.

Hi John,

Please tell us what bulb you are using and if you are using the original light sockets. The common 6V bulb is the 1154 style. Do a SEARCH of old posts using the terms +light +bulb +41 for more info. Get the story on members updating their bulbs to LED.

Here is a sample of a previous discussion: 41 Tail Lights.

Light levels can not be improved with a wire harness in poor condition or poorly grounded. I have replaced my harness and have excellent light from my 1154 6V style lamp bulbs.

Good luck, Mike
The bulbs are a rather loose fit it the sockets. The pins on the sides of the bulb is what locks the bulb in place.
Yes I'm using the 1157 type bulb and all 4 sockets on the car seem too big to get the pins locked. I don't know if they are the original sockets, could these larger type sockets be the original ones the car came with 41?
Correction - I am using the 1154 type bulbs not 1157.
1st mistake today according to my wife, she keeps track for me.
John
