After you've looked at everything, the lightbulbs are still "lighted" indicating that there are unread messages that you haven't seen. You can update this by:
The reason that this works is that your browser holds a "cookie" active on your computer until you close the browser. Then when you log in again, a new cookie is saved along with the updated flags of which messages you've read and which are still unread.
So if you're going to stay online for a long time, you might do the above steps to check for new messages.
Note: You can also do a similar reset, by going to your profile section and clicking on Reset LIGHTBULBS.

- Log off from Chevy Chatter
- Close your browser
- Start up a new instance of the browser
- Log back in to VCCACHAT
- The lightbulbs will now be off!!
