Do any of you dudes have a listing as to what vehicles (cars and trucks) used a 12 volt system as standard equipment prior to 1955, and as far back as the early 1900's?

our 32 dodge sedan utilizes a 6 v battery, gen and starter as well as all bulbs and heater motor. don't know about the dodges of the 20's though. believe olds and caddy said goodby to 6 volts in 53. mike

Thanks for the info. guys, but I still need a list of the vehicles that used 12 volts prior to 1955......especially in the teens and twenties. I have the early Dodges on my list, but hopefully someone out there might have a manual that lists the types of electrical systems used back in the early days that would include the 12 volt systems. I have the 6 volt systems covered.

Do you want U.S. cars only? I know that MGs had 12 volt systems in the forties and maybe before.

Could you use the AACA library to get this information?

You could also post this question on their website.

Thought someone on Chevy Chatter might have a listing of the vehicles that used 12 volts back in the early days. Don't need to go through the hassle of the AACA library or etc. since my needs are not that important.
