Got home from the NW mini meet this afternoon. Thought I would tinker with one of my RJH-08 carbs after determining part of my running problems was fuel related. Took all the screws out of the bottom and was cleaning with carb cleaner when out of one of the bottom orifices came a small metal ball. It is about 1/16" in diameter, and smaller than the ball check which is still intact. I have the 4 page Carter service bulletin from 1937 and item 41 says "test checks by blowing for free operation." Can someone tell me where this ball goes, or is it part of the problem?

Thanks - Art

The ball is in the accelerator pump jet. It is a two piece brass assembly with a 75 drill hole in the small end and two larger holes under the tapered end with the screw driver slot.

Alright - I will pull that apart and check for a ball. Step #41 was the only part in the service bulletin that mentioned the possibility of more than one check. It did not say where it was.

Thanks Chip.

The 125s only has one check valve. The 136s and 150s have two. The second is the small ball in the jet.
