There is a "1929 Chevrolet Speedster Boattail" available on ebay (#4597320089). Does anyone know this car's history? It is available through: Barn Fresh Rods & Customs in Santa Rosa, CA.

Looks like someone had a chassis and some sheetmetal and made an interesting vehicle. Will be both bogus and beautiful when completed.

The car sold for only $4,499.99!

I have an extra chassis and some odd sheetmetal parts; tomorrow I can bend up a boat tail and list that too, what a deal!

Maybe this should be posted in the best one liners, but "a fool and his money are soon parted"

Hey Kevin,

I'm pretty sure it's already been posted.

So has this one, which also seems to apply:

"More money than brains."

And this one also:

"More money than sense."

Etc. etc. etc.

Oh well, as Chipper suggests, it may turn out to look real neat if/when finished. Who knows......

Bill.

What a piece of crap! I have a friend in Atlanta who can duplicate the moonlite speedster, he is an artist of sheet metal.

His name is Vic Carroll-770-528-9244.

The moonlite speedster is a beauty!

Good try Bill

But this is another FAKE.
Great try at making a Moonlight Speedster but there are lots of little things that prove this one to be a copy. The sad fact is that someone has done a wonderful job to create this car and there is little reward for the effort from fellow old car guys. Yet when the same effort is put into a Street Rod the rodders go crazy about it and treat the guy as a god , then they ask $60k plus for it. Makes you wonder who is the smart one the restorer who spends heaps of money and gets poor returns or the rodders?

Yep, that is a nice looking speedster but the car featured in the above photos is definitely a fake. It ain't the real thing!

I don't think that anyone is suggesting that this car is original... that's why the web page says that it's "... a very interesting style"...

Enjoy life stressed

and... yes, check out my next posting. ha!

Just so the "newbies" to the hobby or those that are not aware about the real '32 Moonlight Speedster know that the car featured is a fake. We don't want history to get changed to the point that 20 years from now everyone that sees this car thinks it is the real thing and the value of the car is reflected accordingly.
