Looking for a 261 Chevy inline 6 that is a 58 or newer due to the inline oil filter and ability to increase HP. Is there a better year to get in the 58 to 62 model years? Also What is a fair price for the long block already pulled and running?

The 1958-1962 are the same.
If the seller knows what he has price could go up to several hundred dollars.

Thanks Chevy nut. I was thinking around 5 or 6 hundred. This guy wants 900 and I still have to rebuild. I may wait until I'm closer to putting one in. If anyone needs one and is ok with this 900 price, I can send you his phone number. Thanks for the input'
