The annual AACA/VMCCA/AAA Glidden Tour is in Oklahoma City this year. Information at www.gliddentour.org The "Heart of Route 66 Region of VCCA" has elected to host one day of the tour as workers, not participants on Tuesday, September 1st. The event begins on Sunday, August 30th and runs through the morning of Saturday, September 5th. Anticipating 200 pre-1943 historically correct cars. If you are not an AACA or VMCCA member and want to join this tour without membership you can pay an addition $20 for registration and join in the fun. VCCA members that work on Tuesday may drive their pre-1943 car on on day (not Tuesday) of the tour without registration fees. If you want to work on September 1st contact the Director listed in the G&D for the Oklahoma "Heart of Route 66 Region". The AACA Chairman of this event is a VCCA member.

Great job "Heart of Route 66 Region" VCCA members on your one day of hosting the AACA Glidden Tour on September 1st. We had VCCA members working/hosting on Tuesday, September 1st on the AACA Glidden Tour.
I was not a worker, but a participant in the tour. I observed that the VCCA members that were working the event were having a very good time. Our VCCA Region Director recruited assistance from a Youth Group, the Guthrie Job Corp and the Guthrie Rotary Club, these two groups worked very hard assisting VCCA members and had an enjoyable day seeing all the historically accurate automobiles.
