Does anyone know the exact original factory exhaust system layout, and where I can get the exact complete system for a 1936 Master 2door sedan? Thanks, Ken

Save your self some grief and take the car down to a locally owned Mom and Pop muffler shop and have them make and install you a good exhaust system.

I don't know of anyone that supplies a factory original exhaust system. If you can find an original looking muffler then your local muffler shop can fabricate something resembling the original. Since all that I know of use a pipe bending machine and not the mandrel that the factory supplier used the bends will not look exact. Occasionally factory type exhaust & tail pipes and mufflers will be listed on eBay as single pieces. The March 2, 1942 parts book has a tail pipe chart on page 455 that might help in identifying that piece. That one and other parts books also have diagrams of the exhaust system. Be careful as the illustrations are not identified as to year and model but will be more accurate than what the muffler shop dreams up.

The reason Iam asking, I was at a car show this weekend and I saw a car Identical to mine and notice that his exhaust was different. Mainly the muffler location. Mine is right under the drivers seat, where the other one I saw was more toward the middle back ,and I am trying to find out the correct location of it. That way when I take car to a muffler shop I can somewhat put it back to the way its supposed to be, any help would be greatly appreachated. Thanks, Ken

I'm with Chipper and Mack, I've not have any luck with the so-called "factory replacements". The muffler goes under the seat and you can probably find remnants of the hanger assembly aft of the muffler. That should give you an idea where the rest of the system goes.

Thanks to all for your advice and information. I just need to locate a muffler and should be good to go.
